Ford Foundation

The Ford Foundation is an American foundation, whose objectives are to spread democracy, poverty reduction and the promotion of international understanding. It was founded in 1936 with contributions from Henry Ford and his son Edsel Ford of the Ford Motor Company and directed from 1966 to 1979 by McGeorge Bundy. Besides the headquarters, there are ten regional offices. The Foundation's assets amounts to around 13 billion dollars.

The Ford Foundation is a major donor of the organization Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, a group to monitor the media.
