Ford Taunus

Ford Taunus was the name of a series of mid-size cars of the German Ford -Werke AG, Cologne.

Taunus as a brand name

The name " Taunus " all German Ford car models were designated after the Second World War until 1967. " Taunus " until 1967 was a brand name and also a synonym for Ford Germany. As a logo like the Cologne coat of arms emblem was used. From 1970 to 1982 Taunus was the model name of the middle-class Fords.

The cars had names such as 12M, 17M etc, but were sold under the " Taunus " brand. The "M" in the name meant "masterpiece". Even a small van was offered as " Taunus Transit". 1967, with the appearance of P7 models, the name Taunus but disappeared and the cars were called now only Ford 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M. In 1970, the name " Taunus " reactivated and used until 1982 for the Ford Taunus TC.
