Ford Versailles

Ford Versailles was the name of two different, offered by the U.S. automobile company Ford car models.

France

Following the acquisition of the French Ford factories by Simca in 1954, the Ford Vedette was further produced as Simca Vedette to 1957; in export markets was the car different names, including Ford Versailles.

Brazil

Ford Versailles, a variant of the VW Santana

As part of the car Latina agreement between Ford and Volkswagen Ford produced for the South African market also variants of the local VW Santana.

The Ford Versailles was launched in 1991 as a successor to the Ford Del Rey. It was a look slightly modified Santana as two - and four-door sedan and as a three-door station wagon (called Royale ). 1995 and 1996 there was the Royale with five doors. In Argentina, the Versailles was sold as the Ford Galaxy and there replaced the Ford Sierra, before he himself was replaced by the Mondeo.

After the end of the car Latina manufacturing the Ford Versailles ran out in 1996.
