Forest Lake is a city ( with a status of "City" ) in Washington County in the southeastern center of the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010 Forest Lake had 18,375 inhabitants.
Forest Lake is part of the metropolitan area of Minneapolis -Saint Paul.
Geography
Forest Lake is located around the lake to the north-eastern suburban area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul at 45 ° 16'34 " north latitude and 92 ° 59'05 " west longitude. The city covers 92.05 km ², spread over 79.15 km ² land and 12.9 km ² water surface.

History
The Forest Lake Township was established on 11 March 1874. The City of Forest Lake got on July 11, 1893 the status of a self-governing commune. In 2001, the Forest Lake Township was dissolved and added to the entire territory of the city of Forest Lake.
