Forest plot
A Forest plot is a graph showing the results of a meta-analysis of several biomedical studies. In general, the numerical result of each individual study represented as boxes on a horizontal axis, for example, achieved by a treatment rate of improvement in percentage terms. The size of the box, the Power ( statistical power ) show the study. The range of measured values ( variance, confidence interval ) can be indicated by a horizontal line through the box. It is a modified box plot.
Forest plots are common since the 1970s. They allow the reader a quick visual orientation of the meta-analysis of the studies analyzed on common trends.
The name of forest plot ( "Forest drawing " ) shall be directed to the plurality of parallel lines, vaguely reminiscent of a group of trees
