Forio

Forio is a town in the west of the island of Ischia, with 16,705 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Naples, Campania region. It is located on the foothills of Mount Epomeo and features with the Citara beach on one of the most beautiful beaches of Ischia with many thermal springs.

The nearby towns of Forio are Casamicciola Terme, Lacco Ameno and Serrara Fontana.

Demography

Forio counts 6,964 households. Between 1991 and 2001 the population increased from 11,526 to 14,554. This represents a percentage increase of 26.3 %.
