Forklift Driver Klaus - The first working day is incurred in 2000 short film about the first working day of the forklift truck driver Klaus Bersek. Content

The main character is Klaus, fresh owner of a new forklift ticket who makes many mistakes on his first day, leading to numerous accidents.

While in the classical educational film violations are only hinted at, the film served next to the dramatics and irrationality of a slapstick movie also a bloody splatter film: arms are separated, cut off heads and people impaled on forks. Although fatal injuries shown are all concerned - except Forklift Driver Klaus, which the head is cut off, and a warehouse worker, which is divided by the chainsaw again - still fully conscious, which could be explained even in a present state of shock hardly.

The film gained cult status quickly. He has been awarded numerous prizes and ran in 2001 as a competition entry to the film festival in Cannes. Since 2003 he has been available on DVD with bonus material in a digitally refurbished version. The production has been promoted, among others, the Film Foundation NRW.

During the training for safe handling by forklifts, the short film is often shown to loosen the classroom. The DEKRA Academy in 2005 at the request of television editorial noted that the film was not part of the training.
