Formosa is an island in the northwestern part of the Bissagos archipelago. It lies off the coast of Guinea -Bissau in the Atlantic Ocean near the west coast of the northern half of Africa. The island is part of the sector Caravela and north of the island lie the islands of Maio and Ponta and south of it the islands Enu and Edana, which also belong to Caravela sector. The area of ​​the island is 140 km ².
