Formula One Constructors Association

The Formula One Constructors Association ( FOCA ) was established in 1971 by Bernie Ecclestone merger of Formula 1 teams for joint advocacy of the team towards the international automotive sport's governing body the Fédération Internationale de l' Automobile ( FIA).

In 1977 the management of the FOCA by Max Mosley, the former team boss of the March team was strengthened.

The early 1980s, a dispute erupted between the FIA ​​and FOCA to the revenue from the Formula 1 race. Since now 20 Formula 1 teams participating in the World Cup, and a total of Formula 1 experienced increased popularity, the FOCA called an entry fee of $ 540,000 per race by the respective organizer. After long negotiations and intermittent threats to found a new own racing series, the FOCA also took over the television rights of the FIA.
