Immucillin -H, Forodesine INN ( Manufacturer: BioCryst Pharmaceuticals ) is a novel agent for targeted therapy of hematologic malignancies, especially acute T -cell leukemia (T- ALL). Immucillin - H belongs to the group of PNP inhibitors and is currently being tested in several clinical trials for safety and efficacy.

Mechanism of Action

Immucillin -H to inhibit the function of the enzyme purine nucleoside phosphorylase ( PNP) and thereby leads to selective depletion of T - lymphocytes in the patient's blood.

Indications

Adult

For Immucillin -H following indications are currently being investigated in the first clinical trials (Phase II):

  • Acute T-cell leukemia (T -ALL)
  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia ( CLL)
  • ( lymphoblastic ) T -cell lymphoma
