Forst (Eifel)

Forst ( Eifel ) is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Treis- carding.

Geography

The municipality lies in the Eifel region between Treis- carding and Kaiser Esch. It is divided into the districts of Forestry, Molzig and Pfaffenhausen. The municipality also includes the residential places Birkenhof, Kapellenhof and Pfaff Hauser mill.

History

In two papal documents from the years 1178 and 1186 the place " Vosca " and " Vostra " is called. Forestry was the center of Nasser or Forster parish, which represents an early parish and district court since the Middle Ages. Landlords were around 1790 next to the monastery of St. Kastor in carding nor the barons of Clodt, the Counts von der Leyen, the Counts of Waldbott Bassenheim, the monastery Rosenthal and the Franciscan St. in carding. 1794 was the occupation by the French revolutionary army, about 1802, the secularization of monastery estates. 1815 it to the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 it has been part of the newly founded state of Rhineland- Palatinate. The suffix " (Eifel ) " bears the municipality since June 1, 1970.

Parish council

The local council in forest consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The municipality operates since 1987 a coat of arms: shared " sign in the Göpel section. Front silver in a stylized black temple, the back of a silver green church, down in gold with three red diamonds four red balls, each beam- wise ".

The tripartite crest refers to the districts forestry, Molzig and Pfaffenhausen in the community. The temple complex is reminiscent of the Roman settlement site in the hallway " Stockborn ". The center of the Nasser parish of nine yards was the ancient church, which is called 1288 in the will of Rudolf von Polch. The seal of the parish of Nasser in 1587 shows, among other things, the coat of arms Brunsperch - Brohl, which is placed in the lower part of coat of arms.
