Fort Crown Point

Fort Crown Point is a fort, which was built on the border between Vermont and New York by the British in 1759 on Lake Champlain. The fort was built under the command of Jeffrey Amherst. After the French and Indian War, a small British garrison was only left in the fort. This allowed the Americans simply take the fort in the American War of Independence. The Battle for Fort ( Battle of Crown Point ) took place outside the fort - The fort was never attacked directly since its inception.

Fort Crown Point is a National Historic Landmark in the United States.
