Fort Stewart

Fort Stewart is a military base the U.S. Army. The base is located in the state of Georgia near the city of Hinesville. Is named the base after General Daniel Stewart, who fought with Francis Marion in the Revolutionary War.

The site of Fort Stewart covers five counties with very far-reaching training and education opportunities and is the largest military installation in CONUS Army east of the Mississippi. The base provides training and accommodation for around 50,000 reservists who go through it every year.

About 25,000 soldiers are permanently stationed at Fort Stewart.

  • 46th Infantry Brigade Combat Team ( IBCT ) (infantry brigade ) in 2011 reorganized at Fort Stewart
