Fortras

Fortras ( research and development company for transport) is an EDI standard for data exchange between forwarders.

By 2001 Fortras called also an independent company that has risen in the System Alliance GmbH 2001. Nowadays only the EDI standard is denoted by Fortras, which is also used outside of the System Alliance.

Significant Fortras message types BOARD for loading information (similar to EDIFACT IFTMIN ), " VENT " for Entladeberichte when receiving carrier and STAT for status information (similar to EDIFACT IFTSTA ).

Fortras News of Release 6 consist of lines of 128 characters (hence BORD128 called ), the record type is identified by a letter and a record number at the beginning of the line.

From the " BORD128 " the Fortras Release 100, which is also called " BORD512 " was born. This has a variable record length up to max. 512 characters. Among the major enhancements include the transmission of dimensions and additional address types such as the freight payer or the different loading point.

In addition to the loading information ( " BORD512 " ) there are also status information (" STAT512 " ) and Entladeberichte ( " ENTL512 ").
