Fortschwihr

Fortschwihr ( German Fort Schweier ) is a commune with 1201 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Ried Brun.

Geography

The municipality is located in Fortschwihr the Upper Rhine plain between the Rhine and the Ill, nine kilometers east of Colmar city center. Neighboring communities of Fortschwihr are Muntzenheim in the north, Urschenheim in the east, Widensolen the southeast, Andolsheim in the south and in the west Bischwihr. The latter church is only a few hundred meters from Fortschwihr and is separated from the stream le blind. At the municipal border with Bischwihr a gymnasium and a sports complex was created. The facilities are used by multiple communities of interest.
