The listed Fortum Group is one of the largest international companies in the energy sector in the Nordic countries with approximately 15,000 employees and a turnover of 5.6 billion euros.

Fortum Service is known as an operator of power plants with a capacity of 18,370 megawatts and 27,430 MWth internationally. In addition to its own power plants in Northern Europe operates Fortum power plants for third parties in Finland, Scandinavia, Germany and the UK and in several countries of Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Listed on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki company employs approximately 15,500 people worldwide. 50.9 % of the shares are in hands of the Finnish state.

In 2008, 92% of the generated by Fortum current in Europe free of CO2, including a high proportion of nuclear energy from the Loviisa nuclear power plants in Finland and Oskarshamn and Forsmark in Sweden.
