Fortuna Sittard

Fortuna Sittard is a football club based in Sittard, the Netherlands. The club currently plays in the Dutch Jupiler League. Fortuna Sittard wearing his games from the 12,500 -seater arena Trendwork.

History

The association is a union of two earlier clubs Fortuna 54 Geleen and Sittardia. Due to financial difficulties, the two clubs joined together in 1968. Fortuna 54 was until then a relatively successful club that had won in season 1956/1957 the KNVB Cup. Sittardia often fought against against relegation. 1964, prior to the merger of the two clubs, yet was followed by another success in the KNVB Cup.
