Fortune Island

Fortune is the name of an island in the province of Batangas in the Philippines. It lies off the coast of the island of Luzon, approximately 14 kilometers west of the municipality of Nasugbu, at the junction of the Isla Verde Street in the bay of Manila. The island is privately owned; Since 1995 there is the Fortune Iceland Resort Club operated.

The island of Fortune is mainly known among scuba divers, as many shipwrecks lie off its coast. The best known of them is that of the Spanish galleon San Diego, which was sunk on December 12, 1600 by Dutch privateer. The charge of the San Diego was lifted after nearly 400 years; Parts of which are located as a permanent exhibition at the National Museum of the Philippines in Manila.

Other wrecks are the sunken MV 1995 Kimelody Cristy and the 1998 sunken Princess of the Orient of Sulpicio Lines.
