Fountain of Neptune, Bologna

The Fountain of Neptune is a fountain in the center of Bologna (Piazza Nettuno ).

The 3.35 m high statue of Neptune is made of bronze and stands in the middle of the fountain, surrounded by sirens and dolphins. It is simply called by the Bolognese only " the giant ". The fountain was 1563-1566 by Giovanni di Bologna, Jean Boulogne or Giambologna hereby established. The base with the dolphins and sirens was designed by Tommaso Laureti.

The trident, Neptune holds in hands, also adorns the logo of the company Maserati.
