Four Cardinal Principles

The Four Basic Principles for the Development of China (Chinese四项基本原则) is a political doctrine, which were set up by Deng Xiaoping in the late 1970s to allow economic reform, but narrow political reforms.

The Four Basic Principles state that the People's Republic of China on

  • The socialist road
  • Under the leadership of the Communist Party
  • Think Mao Zedong on the basis of Marxism- Leninism and and
  • Based on the dictatorship of the proletariat

Should develop.

To date, the four basic principles are an important basis for political reasoning in the People's Republic of China.
