Four-Power Treaty

The Washington Four Power Agreement was a December 13, 1921 on the Washington Naval Conference for a term of ten years contract concluded between the United States, the United Kingdom and its Dominions, the French Republic and the Empire of Japan. He foresaw the mutual respect of the insular possessions of these powers in the Pacific in Article I. Articles I and II of the Treaty set out the procedure for consultations in the event of disputes between the Powers concerned or the intervention of a disinterested power. In Article IV of the Treaty, it was agreed that the ratification should the Anglo - Japanese Alliance expire.

In the further course of the conference was followed by addition to the actual naval agreement nor a Nine-Power Treaty on China.
