Four Treasures of the Study
The four treasures of the scholar's Room (Chinese文房四宝/文房四宝, Pinyin wén fáng sì bǎo ) were the items that needed a scholar for writing and painting in traditional Chinese Empire.
They are the main tools with which he performs his duties.
Writing Brush
Writing brushes (笔/笔, bǐ ): brushes are made of fine animal hair. The flexibility of the brush tip is their bedeutsamstes feature.
Rod ink
Rod ink (墨, mò ): The three materials used to make the ink most commonly soot from pine, oil and lacquer. Good ink has a smooth surface, firm and not sticky. Their black color is without turbidity.
