Foxy Brown (singer)
The Jamaican singer Foxy Brown ( née: Jen ( n ) iffer Esmerelda Hylton ) achieved in the late 1980s some success in Jamaica and in dance halls outside with cover versions of Tracy Chapman 's hit " Baby Can I Hold You Tonight" ( = " Sorry" ) on the " Unmetered taxi" riddim and " Fast Car ", each produced by the production duo Steely & Clevie jamaica. From the audience, she was so determined quickly on the role as a Jamaican Tracy Chapman what seemed a career as an independent singer-songwriter first hindrance. However, they could reasonably relate to their first success after the release of their debut album " Foxy ". So it came in 1990 to work with Jamaican top producers such as, inter alia, Lloyd " Pickout " Dennis and Philip " Fatis " Burrell, resulting in the hits "Always For Me" and " Whip Appeal" as well as collaborations with the one-time popular dancehall DJ Johnny P ( " Cherish The Love ", " If You Love Me " ) resulted. Overall, a large part of their repertoire of cover versions which include Rock Steady standards such as " Love Is All I Had " belong.
