Foy Draper

Foy Draper (born 26 November 1913 in Georgetown, Texas, † February 1, 1943 at Kasserine, Tunisia) was an American track and field athlete. At a height of 1.65 m his competition weight was 54 kg.

As second in the NCAA championships in 1935 behind Jesse Owens he set his personal best of 10.3 seconds in the 100 -meter run. In the same year he won the IC4A Championship over 220 yards.

In the 1936 Olympics he won along with Jesse Owens, Ralph Metcalfe and Frank Wykoff the gold medal in the 4x100 - meter relay in a world record time of 39.8 seconds.

He crashed his plane in 1943 during the Second World War in preparing for participation in the Battle of the Kasserinpass in Tunisia from. His body was never found.
