France Gareau

France Gareau ( born April 15, 1967 in Verner, Ontario ) is a former Canadian track and field athlete, who specialized in the 100 -meter run.

Her biggest international success came Gareau at the age of 17 years at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. There she won the anchor leg of the Canadian 4-by- 100 - meter relay along with Angela Bailey, Marita Payne and Angella Taylor Issajenko the silver medal behind the U.S. team. Gareau started in Los Angeles in the 100 -meter run, but already retired in the quarterfinal round.

In 1989 she was Canadian champion in the 100 -meter run and took at the Jeux de la Francophonie, a silver medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. In the 4 x 400 - meter relay team, she won at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland and the bronze medal at the Jeux de la Francophonie in 1994 the silver medal.
