Francesco Albotto

Francesco Albotto, Francesco Albotti, François François Albotto or Albotti, ( probably * 1723, † January 13, 1758 in Venice) was an Italian painter and engraver.

About Francesco Albotto little is known. Its origin is obscure. He was probably only pupil and later assistant Michele Marie ski. After his death Albotto took over the workshop and married the widow of his teacher. Throughout his life he remained the Arts Marie ski arrested and painted vistas and landscapes in his style. He was therefore referred by Mariette as the " second Marie ski ". His works are those of his teacher, so close that they were considered whose works long. Only in 1972 dipped " Francesco Albotto F. S. Luca Cale di ca Loredan " signed work in the New York art market and offered a basis for identifying other works. It was found that Albotto more prone to repetitions, mostly resorted to the prefabricated form language Marie ski and little Private brought into his works. Albotto was primarily active in Venice. His oeuvre is compared with those of his Venetian contemporaries rather small, although now always reappear newly discovered images.
