Francesco Antonio Urio

Francesco Antonio Urio (* around 1631 in Milan, † 1719 probably ) was an Italian composer of the Baroque.

Life

Urio Francesco, who belonged to the Friars Minor Order, held several posts as Kapellmeister in the course of his life, so in cathedrals and churches in Spoleto, Urbino, Assisi, in Rome. At the church of Santi Apostoli and in Milan He composed several oratorios and other sacred music.

Georg Friedrich Handel borrowed Centurions works different subjects, which he further related in four of his works, including a " Te Deum ", were taken over by the parts in " Saul". Furthermore, elements Centurions see " Israel in Egypt", " Julius Caesar " and the " Dettingen Te Deum ".
