Francesco Friedrich

Francesco Friedrich (born 2 May 1990 in Pirna ) is a German bobsledder.

Francesco Friedrich came along with his brother David on the track for bobsledding. In the years 2005 and 2006, David crashed during training rides on the bobsleigh track in Altenberg hard and abruptly ended his career Bob.

Friedrich occupied at the German Junior Championships in the 2007/ 08 season in the two- the 8th Place. First major success he could achieve with the 5th (two ) and 6th place ( four-man ) in the 2009/10 European Cup season at his home track in Altenberg. The breakthrough to the world class succeeded with the junior world title in two and the 2nd place in the quad ( with brother David) at the Junior World Championship 2011 in Park City. In the same year he was able to record at the World Championships in Koenigssee after winning the World Team Championship title his biggest success. The two-man Appreciation in the European Cup in 2011, he could decide for themselves. In the season 2011/12 Francesco secured in the European Cup three overall victories (two -, Four- and combination) and was able to celebrate due to the failure of Thomas Florschütz in St. Moritz his World Cup debut. At the World Championships 2012 in Lake Placid, he reached a very good 4th Place and in the four-man event on the 9th place in the two-man bob. At the Junior World Cup in 2012/13, which was held due to the railway closure in Cesana, Italy for the second time within a calendar year in Innsbruck / Igls, Friedrich won the gold medal in both competitions. In 2013 he became world champion in St. Moritz. Frederick brought in Bob championship in 2014 with Alexander Mann, Gregor Bermbach and Thorsten Margis the bronze medal in the four-man event.
