Francesco I. Gonzaga

Francesco I Gonzaga (* 1366 in Mantua, † March 8, 1407 ) was the son of Luigi II Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua and its successors since 1382.

He was married in first marriage to Agnes Visconti († 1391 ), daughter of Bernabo Visconti. His second wife was 1393 Margherita Malatesta († 1399 ), daughter of Galeotto Malatesta of Rimini. With her he had a son, Gianfrancesco Gonzaga I. (1395-1444), Count and later Marquis of Mantua.
