Francesco II Gonzaga, Marquess of Mantua

Gianfrancesco II Gonzaga (also: Francesco II Gonzaga ) ( born August 10, 1466 Mantua, † March 29, 1519 ibid ) was the eldest son of the Marquis Federico Gonzaga of Mantua and I. reigned as his successor ( 1484-1519 ).

Francesco II was a famous Condottiere. He joined in 1484 the military service of the Duchy of Milan, a, was from 1489 to 1498 as a military commander in the service of Venice and Mantua was at this time ruled by his wife Isabella.
