Francesco III Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua

Francesco III. Gonzaga ( born March 10, 1533 Mantua, † February 22, 1550 ibid ) was the eldest son of the Duke Federico II Gonzaga of Mantua and Montferrat and its successors since 1540.

He married on October 22, 1549 Catherine of Austria ( born September 15, 1533 † February 28, 1572 ), daughter of the Emperor Ferdinand I.. Francesco but he died four months later, the marriage remained childless, and the title passed to his brother Guglielmo Gonzaga over.
