Francesco Lismanini

Francesco Lismanini (* 1504 in Corfu, † April 1566 in Königsberg ) was an Italian reformer in the Kingdom of Poland.

Life

Lismanini was born in Corfu, entered the Franciscan Order in 1546 and went to court preacher as his Queen Bona Sforza to Poland. On the recommendation of her son, King Sigismund II August 1553 Lismanini went to Switzerland, from where he returned as a Calvinist. Lismanini tried to unite together with Johannes a Lasco, the various currents in Polish Protestantism. 1563 Lismanini entered the service of Duke Albrecht of Prussia and died in 1566 in Königsberg.
