Francesco Maria Appendini

Francesco Maria Appendini, Germanized Franz Maria Appendini, (* November 4, 1768 in Turin, † January 1837 in Zadar ) was an Italian philologist and historian.

Life

After Francesco Maria Appendini had completed his studies in Rome, he joined the Order of Piaristen. Later he served as rector of a college of the Order. This sent him afterwards as a high school prefect to Ragusa. There he worked on with Illyria and Illyrian language, about which he wrote philological treatises, which were very well received. These is his writing Notizie istoricho - critiche sulle ANTICHITA, storia e letteratura de ' Ragusei with which he provided services to the Slavic literature by Entwined jumbled facts.
