Francesco Nullo

Francesco Nullo (* 1826 in Bergamo, † 1863 in Krzykawka, Poland ) was an Italian freedom fighter.

In 1848 he fought during the uprising of Milan together with two of his brothers against Austrian occupation forces, a year later with Garibaldi's red shirts for the Roman Republic against the French. In 1859, he participated as a lieutenant on the second Italian War of Independence, in 1860 at the train the thousands, where he was wounded in the Battle of Calatafimi. 1862 had him arrested in the Aspromonte Rattazzi government because of his participation in the campaign of Garibaldi. However, as a political prisoner, he had to serve a few months in the fortress of Bard. In 1863 he went to Poland, where an uprising against the Tsarist rule was broken. As a general he fell in Krzykawka in the fight against the Russians.
