Francesco Panetta

Francesco Panetta ( born January 10, 1963 in Siderno ) is a retired Italian middle and long distance runners.

He won at the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome as well as at the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split, are the title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Panetta's strengths were actually in the 10,000 - meter race, but there was in his time three more Italian long-distance runners (including Alberto Cova ), so he focused on the 3000 meter steeplechase.
