Francesco Scavullo

Francesco Scavullo ( born January 16, 1921 on Staten Iceland; † 6 January 2004) was American fashion photographer who was particularly known for his paintings on the cover of Cosmopolitan.

Life and work

Scavullo worked for over thirty years as the title photographer for the Cosmopolitan. Until the details (of the selection to the clothing of the photo model ), he determined what is happening in the studio. He created both women as well as male nudes. One of his known work is the presentation of 1975, the then 10 year old Brooke Shields, where the model acts like a grown woman. One of his teachers was Horst P. Horst. Known models of Scavullo have included Madonna, Grace Kelly and Diana Ross.
