Francis Leclerc

Francis Leclerc (born 1971 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada ) is a Canadian film director, screenwriter and editor.

Life and achievements

He was born in the city of Québec. His father is singer-songwriter Félix Leclerc Québec. Francis Leclerc studied communications. In the 1990s he led first short films, music videos and then in films directed.

In 2001, Leclerc was nominated in the international competition for the grand prize of the Grand Prix of Americas at the World Film Festival in Montreal for A Girl at the Window ( Une jeune fille à la fenêtre ). In 2005 he received the psychodrama Mémoires affectives, with Roy Dupuis in the title role, the Prix Jutra for Best Director nomination, he was also for Best Screenplay. In 2005 he won two Genie Awards, namely for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Mémoires affectives.
