Francis Minah

Francis Minah Mishek ( born August 19, 1929 in Sawula, Pujehun, Sierra Leone, † October 7, 1989 in Freetown, Sierra Leone ) was a Sierra Leonean politician.

Biography

Minah was appointed in 1975 by President Siaka Probyn Stevens as secretary of state for the first time in a government. After a cabinet reshuffle, he was between 1977 to 1978, first justice minister and then finance minister. After a further reshuffle, he was Minister of Health from 1980 to 1982 and then again to 1984 Minister of Justice.

Between 1984 and 1985 he was second vice president of the government of Siaka Stevens.

Following the resignation of Stevens, he was finally on November 28, 1985 First, succeeding Ibrahim Koroma Sorie vice president in the government of his successor, Joseph Saidu Momoh Major General. At the same time he again assumed the office of Minister of Justice.

After an alleged coup attempt on March 23, 1987 in Freetown, he was arrested on April 6, 1987 and charged with 15 other people for treason. Following his conviction for the death penalty took place on October 7, 1989 his execution.
