Francisco Galdós

Francisco Galdós Gauna ( born May 6, 1947 in Lasarte -Vitoria ) is a Spanish former road bicycle racer.

Career

Fracisco Galdós began his career in 1969 with the Spanish team KAS. A year before he won the Tour of Mallorca and the Vuelta a Cantabria for themselves. He proved to be a good driver in the mountains and was in his first year as a professional already the Tour de France contest. In 1970, he decided the Tour of Catalonia itself. However, his most successful year came only four years later. In 1975, he won the Tour de Romandie and the 21st stage of the Giro d' Italia on the Stelvio Pass. In addition, he could wear the pink leader's jersey for ten days in this tour, in the end won the mountain classification, together with his team-mates Andrés Oliva and was overall in second place.
