Franciszek Latinik

Franciszek Ksawery Latinik ( born July 17, 1864 in Tarnów, Galicia; † August 29, 1949 in Kraków ) was a Polish general.

Career

At the age of 18 he had gone through the infantry cadet school in Łobzów in Krakow. In 1891 he finished his general staff training in Vienna. During World War II, he was commander of the 100th Infantry Division and fought among others in the battle of Gorlice - Tarnów.

After the independence of Poland, he entered into the Polish Army and was after the First World War, as the local military governor at the Battle of Warsaw (1920) involved.

His parting it adopted in March 1925.

He received the Virtuti Militari and was Commander of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
