Franciszek Maksymilian Ossoliński

Count Franciszek Maksymilian Ossoliński (* April 2, 1676; † July 1, 1756 in Jarville -la -Malgrange, Lorraine) was a Polish count, politician and art collector.

Offices and politics

He was from 1703 to 1710 Chorąży (banner carrier ) who was then the Lithuanian part of the empire -listed town of Drohiczyn. He was Starosta ( royal administrator ) of Sandomierz, Nursk, Ostrow, Drohiczyn Chmielnik and Niepołomice. 1727 he worked as an administrator ( Zupnik ) of the salt mines in Bochnia and Wieliczka.

In 1713 he was Podskarbi nadworny ( treasurer of a judicial function). As Marshal of the Sejm ( from May 5 to November 16, 1722 ) he warned in Warsaw Sejm before a downfall of the Republic of Poland - Lithuania. From 1729 to 1736 he was treasurer of the Great ( ie Polish ) crown. Although he had been the strengths of the private secretary of August, 1733, he supported the election of Stanislaus Leszczynski I. King of Poland and commanded its armed forces in the Polish Succession War. After the surrender of Danzig in 1734, he fell into Russian captivity.

He stood still not Augustus III. , But followed in 1736 Stanislaus I. Leszczynski after Luneville. He was great chamberlain and Count of the Duchy of Lorraine. He died on July 1, 1756 in Château de la Malgrange. His grave is in the church of Notre- Dame-de- Bonsecours in Nancy.

Family

The son of Maksymilian Ossoliński and Teodora Krassowska married in 1706 Katarzyna Miaczynska and had three children with her: Józef Kanty Ossoliński, Anna Ossolińska and Tomasz Ossoliński. In 1732 he married Katarzyna Jablonowska, the chancellor's daughter Stanisław January Jabłonowski.
