Franciszek Zabłocki

Franciszek Mikołaj Zabłocki (* January 2, 1752 in Volhynia, † September 10, 1821 in Końskowola ) was a Polish playwright and satirist.

He came from the old Polish noble family of Zabłockis. In addition to numerous own publications, he translated the first Molière's comedies and dramas from French into Polish. Zabłocki authored over 50 comedies. His satirical seals predominantly emerged in the early period.

From 1774 he worked in the National Education Commission, 1786, he was appointed Minister of Education. 1794 took Franciszek Zabłocki active Kościuszko Uprising and was there both in the army and in the " Supreme National Council" active. The following year he withdrew from public life and became a priest. Towards the end of his life he sank into melancholy.
