Franco Amurri
Franco Amurri ( born September 12, 1958 in Rome ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter.
Life
Amurri, the son of writer and humorist Antonio Amurri began in 1979 as Director Assist. In 1986 he turned his first film on its own and in its own script. Even with his second, the award-winning Da Grande, he achieved his breakthrough and he was offered the opportunity to shoot in Hollywood. However, his two films shot there were only moderate reviews and had moderate success. Since 2005 Amurri works for television.
Amurri has in common with Susan Sarandon 's daughter Eva Amurri ( born 1985 ), who works as an actress.
Awards
For the script of the comedy As grande (1987 ) Amurri won in 1988, the Nastro d' Argento of Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani. In 1996 he was awarded the Francois Truffaut Award from Giffoni Film Festival.
