Franco Castellano

Franco Castellano ( born June 20, 1925 in Rome, † December 28, 1999 ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director.

Life

Castellano graduated in Engineering and was a member of as many humorists of the Scuola Marc'Aurelio. In the late 1950s he began to work as a screenwriter who wrote mostly comedies. 1963 began with I Marziani Hanoverian dodici mani, a 25 -year-long artistic partnership with Giuseppe Moccia. Together they wrote and shot a number of films, often with Adriano Celentano. They were renamed under the name Castellano & Pipolo. Unloved by critics, but successful with the public, they wrote nearly 100 films, including five of the one hundred most financially successful Italian blockbuster.
