Franco Nenci

Franco Nenci ( born January 25, 1935 in Livorno, Italy ) is an Italian former welterweight boxer.

Amateur

Nenci began at age 17 with the boxes and quickly became a skilled boxer with outstanding technical skills. In 1956 he qualified for the Olympic Games in Melbourne, where he, after victories over Rehmat Gul, Pakistan (KO 3 ), Willi Roth, Germany, Antonio Marcilla, Argentina, and Constantin Dumitrescu, Romania, and one final defeat by Wladimir Jengibarjan Soviet Union, the silver medal in the light welterweight won.

Professional

As a professional, he began in 1957. Though he completed many fights, but really did not come in his career journey. In April 1964, he finally fought for the Italian champion welterweight title. But he was defeated Fortunato Manca in the seventh round technical knockout. Even then showed his fights light and shadow. In July 1967, Nenci then retired from boxing.
