François Baucher

François Baucher ( born June 16, 1796 in Versailles, † March 14, 1873 in Paris) was a French master of horse training. Baucher spoke out against an exaggerated mutually opposing action of various aids.

Life

Baucher reaches the age of 14 to Italy, where his uncle is the head of the stables of Camillo Borghese. He returns to the fall of Napoleon returned to France and finds work in the stables of the Duke of Berry. He loses this job, now married, 1820 after the assassination of the Duke. Baucher takes over the management of two indoor riding arenas in Le Havre and Rouen. He begins to verschriftlichen his dressage methods and published in 1833 his first book, the others will follow. 1843 produced a German translation of his method of horsemanship for new principles, based on the fourth edition. In 1844 appears the fifth edition of the continuously slightly more advanced book. After that, the publisher accepts only the publication, which it remains practically unchanged until the eleventh edition. These conditions are also known as " early style " Baucher. Only when the contract expires with his publisher in 1863, brings out a twelfth Baucher, heavily modified, edition, which is also referred to as his " second manner". As his 1884 Méthode is translated into German again, but this time the long old eighth edition is used as a basis for translation. Appeared until the autumn of 2009, a translation of his second manner ( the thirteenth edition) - a clear sign of how much Baucher development in Germany was ignored.

1855 Baucher was seriously injured in an accident in the riding hall. A chandelier fell on him and wounded him so severely that he was able to complete any more public appearances. It is speculated that the permanent physical damage is one reason for the development of his second manner, or whether this is the normal development of his theories.

Baucher split the tab world already in his lifetime into two camps. This split has remained preserved and is expressed in the existence of two famous riding schools, the Spanish Riding School, which operates according to the methods of François de la Robichon Noirmoutier and the Cadre Noir, the training program is based on the methods of Baucher.
