Life

Françoise was the youngest of five daughters Pierres de Montmorency, baron de Fosseux, marquis de Thury and his wife Jacqueline dAvaugour. She stood as maid of honor in the service of the later French Queen Margaret of Valois. From 1579 to 1581 she was the official mistress of King Henry IV and bore him a daughter, but was dead to the world. Together with Queen Margaret of Navarre in 1582 she went yard in Nerac to Paris and married on May 11, 1596 François de Broc, Baron de Cinq - Mars.
