The Franconia Notch State Park is a state park of the U.S. state of New Hampshire with a size of 2,700 hectares. He - nestled in the White Mountain National Forest - to the north of that country. In 1972, the area was registered as a National Natural Landmark. Its main attractions include a 240 -meter-long gorge, a cable car that goes to the summit of Cannon Mountain (mountain ) in just under 1300 meters, and the Profile Lake (lake). On the limits of New Hampshire also known was the Old Man of the Mountain ( " Old Man of the Mountain" ), a natural granite formation on Cannon Mountain that worked from Profile Lake like the rugged face of a man, on 3 May 2003 but despite repeated rescue attempts to the valley fell.
