Frank Arnesen

Frank Arnesen ( born September 30, 1956 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football official and former football player.

Career as a player

Association

Arnesen began his career during his school days at Fremad Amager. After his graduation in 1975, he joined the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. After a second place in the 1975/76 season he won in the 1976/77 season the Dutch championship; This success was repeated in 1979 and 1980. In 1979 he also won the Dutch Cup in addition to the championship.

For the 1981/82 season Arnesen moved to Spanish club Valencia. In two years, however, no title could be won. For these reasons, he returned after two years back in the Benelux region and signed the Belgian first division and then reigning UEFA Cup winners Anderlecht, which played with Morten Olsen, Kenneth Brylle and Per Frimann three other Danes.
