Frank Baumbauer

Frank Baum Bauer ( born September 2, 1945 in Munich) is a German theater manager, director and theater manager.

Tree Farmer was born the son of a businessman and the acting agent Erna tree farmer. After leaving school he studied German, sociology and theater at the University of Munich.

Tree farmer was from 1970 to 1972 assistant director at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus and changed following the Bavarian State Theatre. Since 1975 he had been head of artistic administration, from 1980 also personal assistant to the director Kurt Meisel and was promoted in 1983 to the Acting Director of the house.

Tree farmer was 1986/87 Deputy director Ivan Nagel at Stuttgart drama, 1988-1993 Director of the Basel Theatre and from 1993 to 2000 director of the Hamburg Schauspielhaus. From 1999 to 2001 he was responsible for the drama program at the Salzburg Festival.

From 2001 to the summer of 2009 Tree Farmer was Director of the Munich Studio Theater. As head of the Bavarian Schauspielbühnen he belongs to the Broadcasting Council of the Bayerischer Rundfunk.

He is married to actress Gundi Ellert.

In April 2010 he received the Cultural Prize of Honour City of Munich 2009.
